IMC offers consulting services for food safety compliance, in accordance with the recently published ISO 22000:2005 standard.
ISO 22000 is a specific standard for food processors setting out safety management procedures. The standard plays a key part in the efforts by governments and regulators to keep contaminants out of the food chain. It is also a key method for global processors to ensure that their suppliers around the world are following approved food safety standards.
"Food reaches consumers via supply chains that may link many different types of organization and that may stretch across multiple borders," ISO said in releasing the standard. "One weak link can result in unsafe food that is dangerous to health – and when this happens, the hazards to consumers can be serious and the cost to food chain suppliers considerable."
Furthermore, IMC offers consulting services for HACCP compliance. HACCP is a food safety system that focuses on how food is handled from raw materials to the end product, and encompasses issues such as sanitation, personal hygiene, infrastructure, pest management and cross contamination.
HACCP is a fundamental component of and essential stepping stone towards ISO 22000 certification.
